The Studio Dilemma-artist Richard Phoenix reflects on the importance of the 'unobserved space’ to art/music making.

Join us for an STST Assembly with Richard Phoenix, an artist integrating painting, writing, music and facilitation and author ofDo Your Own Thing (2023). Richard will speak about the importance of the 'unobserved space' in art and music making, reflecting on my his own experiences of art at school, being a part of DIY/punk scenes, the supported studio (and being a facilitator) as well as communal studio spaces.

This Assembly is specifically focused on discussing issues around supported studios and barriers to artists. We encourage artists who who need support to work or who struggle working individually to join us and share their thoughts. As well as cultural organisations who operate studios or aim to exhibit artists who face barriers to traditional representation.
