The Social Change Dilemma- Dijana Rakovic of Counterpoints Arts discusses how art inspires social change.
Join us for an STST Assembly with Dijana Rakovic is a Senior Producer at Counterpoints Arts. Dijana will be discussing how art can lead the way in building understanding and empathy across our society. Hot off the back of another successful Refugee Week, Dijana will share key methods and frameworks for giving space to art and models that build understanding and connections in our community. In this honest conversation she will address how artists and cultural institutions can offer an alternative narrative as the world around us both internationally and in our local communities becomes more hostile.
This Assembly is specifically focused on discussing how social and political issues are affecting artists and cultural organisations. We encourage artists, cultural workers and art students to join us and discuss how the creative sector can support a more compassionate society.
Dijana Rakovic is a Senior Producer at Counterpoints Arts, a national organisation working in the field of arts, migration and cultural change. STST Assembly is a monthly critical talk series and meeting place focused on contemporary art. Each session centres on a different question, thematic strand or cultural practice. Through intimate dialogues it platforms invited speakers, alongside an open floor conversation that encourages shared learning. STST Assembly is on the last Thursday of every month for cultural workers and artists. We begin with a Coffee Morning networking opportunity.
